Karen Ambrose that’s a very inappropriate comment and I hope that it has been made out of genuine ignorance of domestic abuse. I would recommend you try to educate yourself around the many facets of domestic abuse & coercive control before you comment further. Bronni Preston-Williams but you can be compelled to facilitate a generous pattern of contact if it is Court ordered and interestingly whilst the Judge can include a recommendation that the non resident parent financially contributed to the costs of transporting the children to contact with non resident parent – which in many instances of domestic abuse is hundreds of miles from the area that the parent with care has had to relocate to (often for personal safety and also for affordable housing ) the Judge stated he is unable to force the non resident parent to pay , nor can they comment on child maintenace arrears – same with CAFCASS. There have been occasions where the resident parent has no money to afford repairs to the car, or car insurance or even petrol to get the child to contact handover – cannot afford a taxi and due to having relocated to a new area has no support network.
